This is a sketch from a holiday apartment of an amazing rootop view... gardens and all!!

No drawing with a pencil, just the watercolour brush and a sip of the local vino... some olives and a little cheese. It all helps the artist juices to flow!

I find drawing, or even painting, out of doors is the perfect way to represent a view. Photos that I've taken of a scene, with the idea to draw it later, never ever work. The camera sees differently to the eye.
